Adrian-Ioan Veștea, the Minister of Development, Public Works, and Administration, and Sebastian-Ioan Burduja, the Minister of Energy, have approved, through a joint order, the allocation of a sum of 1,307,355,841.41 lei for the implementation of 114 natural gas distribution systems, including connections and the connection to the natural gas transportation system, in 8 counties. The projects aim to establish new natural gas distribution systems, as well as to expand and modernize existing systems by transforming them into intelligent natural gas distribution systems. The funding will be provided through the "Anghel Saligny" National Investment Program, coordinated by the Ministry of Development, Public Works, and Administration. "As promised, we continue to support citizens and local public authorities by financing investments that ensure a normal life, especially considering that currently 70% of localities in Romania are not connected to the natural gas distribution network," stated Minister Veștea. In the following period, the documentation submitted by the other 33 counties will also be analyzed, in order to allocate the necessary funds for the implementation of these objectives as quickly as possible. Through the "Anghel Saligny" National Investment Program, a total of 65.5 billion lei is allocated for the expansion and modernization of road networks, bridges, water supply, sewage, and gas infrastructure.
