Minister Adrian-Ioan Veștea was on a working visit to Timișoara, where he met with local public authorities from Timiș County to discuss the projects they are implementing and are funded through programs coordinated by the Ministry of Development, Public Works, and Administration. He also checked the progress of some education projects developed by the National Investment Company.

"I support education, and I am convinced that educational performance can be achieved by providing high-standard study conditions, and this goal can be reached when students can study in a modern environment with state-of-the-art facilities," said the Minister of Development.

At the West University of Timișoara, the ministry is funding the construction of a student dormitory with a capacity of accommodating 902 people in 451 rooms (435 double rooms and 16 single rooms) arranged in a structure of S+P+4E+5E partial. The rooms will be equipped with modern facilities, private bathrooms, furniture, and balconies.

The construction includes common spaces, such as a dining hall with a capacity of 180 people and two co-working spaces with a capacity of 45 people each (these can be arranged according to the required activities - conferences, exhibitions, work or relaxation activities for the residents). Additionally, each floor will have reading rooms, dining halls with kitchenettes, laundry rooms, technical spaces, and elevators.

The project also includes the construction of pedestrian walkways and parking spaces for cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. The investment's value is 138,041,316.35 lei, and the current progress of the works is 20%.

In Ghiroda commune, MDLPA is funding the construction of buildings for the "Victor Babeș" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara.

The project includes a building with two amphitheaters (240 seats), 10 seminar rooms (with a total capacity of 500 seats), a conference center with 4 halls (totaling 730 seats), an anthropological museum (150 people simultaneously), a multicultural center (400 people simultaneously), a multifunctional exhibition center (200 people simultaneously), a library, two study and discussion rooms (80 people simultaneously), 50 rooms with private bathrooms for accommodation, a dining area for 150 people, medical facilities (a covered teaching pool, a recovery center with changing rooms, and a rehabilitation/exercise room for kinesiotherapy and mobility exercises), a multifunctional sports hall, and 5 sports fields (2 tennis courts, 1 basketball court, and 3 mini-football/handball courts). A gazebo with a capacity of 120 people and an outdoor amphitheater for approximately 400 people simultaneously will also be constructed. The investment's value is 121,516,282.52 lei, and the design stage is currently completed.

"As part of the sub-program Public Education Units and Institutions, the Ministry of Development, through the National Investment Company, has contracted and is implementing 15 student dormitories at the national level, with a total value of over 607.98 million lei and 4,853 accommodation places," emphasized Minister Veștea.
