Today's employees are not just looking for a simple job; they aspire to a work environment that provides them with a complete experience and allows them to blend professional activities with recreational and relaxation moments.

According to a survey conducted by Genesis Property, out of the 1,247 respondents representing multiple generations nationwide, nearly 61% of employees believe that the ideal office should be in a campus with many facilities and options for both work and leisure, with different spaces where they can work according to their needs.

From the perspective of benefits, working in an ideal office makes significant contributions to employees of all generations. Nearly 60% of them believe that such an environment improves their well-being and health, while 50% appreciate that it enhances productivity and work efficiency.

Moreover, almost half of the respondents (49%) perceive working in an ideal office as essential for achieving a balance between professional life and leisure time.

In addition to opportunities for promotion and salary growth (55%), the package of fringe benefits (46.2%), and hybrid work arrangements (41%), over 30% of respondents of all ages consider collaboration with the team, the work environment, and facilities as very important aspects when considering a new job.

Furthermore, almost half of the Romanian employees who responded to the Genesis Property survey believe that the main facility an ideal office should have is access to the most modern technologies and tools.

Others prefer areas designed for interaction and collaboration with colleagues (36.5%), green spaces near the office (30%), or spaces for socializing at work and during leisure time (29%). A campus with many facilities is considered ideal by employees of all ages because it offers a variety of options to spend leisure time and cope with daily stress.

Here, employees would have access to relaxation areas, sports halls, and restaurants that allow them to recharge and feel inspired.

In terms of sustainability benefits that offices should have, the majority of respondents mentioned indoor and outdoor LED lighting for efficient consumption (51.7%), energy-efficient heating and cooling equipment and installations (51%), the importance of photovoltaic panels to ensure energy needs (47%), as well as the use of sensors to monitor and reduce utility consumption (32.5%). Additionally, just over 20% of respondents emphasized the importance of charging stations for electric cars.

The Genesis Property survey analyzed Romanians' opinions about returning to the office and was conducted in March 2024, nationwide, through the iVox platform, on a total sample of 1,247 internet users from Romania. Approximately 48% of participants are female, and over 51% have a net income of more than 4,000 lei.
