On the occasion of the official visit made by some of the ministers of the Government of Romania to the Republic of Turkey, in Ankara, Adrian-Ioan Veștea, the Minister of Development, Public Works and Administration, signed with Mehmet Özhaseki, the Turkish Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of Romania in the field of urban planning.

The cooperation document contains provisions regarding the implementation of concrete actions in:

  • the field of urban planning, spatial planning, and urban development;
  • construction works and construction legislation;
  • contracting, intellectual property, and consultancy, geographic information systems, land registry, cadastre, and mapping;
  • investments in the urban infrastructure of local administrations;
  • promoting the participation of economic operators in urbanization projects, especially for municipal infrastructure and housing construction;
  • organizing annual Romanian-Turkish conferences to boost cooperation between local administration institutions and municipalities, etc.

Minister Adrian-Ioan Veștea assured his Turkish counterpart of the full openness of the Ministry of Development, Public Works, and Administration for good cooperation in the specific areas of activity, both in terms of urban planning and real estate cadastre, as well as cooperation within the Black Sea Basin Program.
