In 2022, the average number of employees increased by 1.0% compared to 2021. Enterprises in the Market Services sector held the largest share in terms of the average number of employees (38.0%), followed by those in the industry (30.0%).
The average size of an industrial enterprise was around 20 employees, while in trade, it was around 5 employees.
Comparatively, the total number of enterprises increased by 2.9% compared to 2021. At the end of 2022, the industrial sector accounted for 60,689 enterprises, or 9.4% of the total active enterprises in the economic sectors (industry, construction, trade, and market services).
The largest share was held by active enterprises within the Market Services sector, accounting for 51.1%.
Regarding turnover, enterprises with the main activity in trade held the largest share (39.8%), while construction enterprises accounted for only 7.2% of the total turnover.
Gross value added at factor cost was obtained in 2022, with a proportion of 34.9% in market services, 32.2% in industry, 23.6% in trade, and 9.3% in construction.
The structure of gross investments in the sectors of economic activity is as follows: industry 34.0%, market services 30.0%, construction 20.8%, and trade 15.2%.
The gross result of the exercise recorded positive values (profit) in all four sectors of economic activity, with market services and trade accounting for 57.8% of the gross result value.
