The National Housing Agency (ANL) was established by Law No. 152 on July 15, 1998, and initially served as a promoter of the implementation of mortgage credit laws. The adoption in Parliament and the enactment 25 years ago of the legislative framework related to the establishment and operation represents the birth certificate of ANL.

In its 25 years of existence, ANL has delivered over 40,000 housing units nationwide, of which over 36,000 were for young people and specialists.

"Having a job and a home have always been the primary desires of young people starting their careers and wishing to start a family. These elements of stability in life have not changed today, 25 years after ANL's establishment. Keeping up with the times, the Ministry of Development integrates, finances, and coordinates projects with local authorities throughout the country to further strengthen ANL's efforts," stated Minister Adrian Veștea.

On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, ANL aims to take a journey into the past to remind the public of the elements that have shaped the institution year after year: tens of thousands of beneficiaries, numerous residential complexes built across the country, and invaluable support for local communities!

"I believe that by constructing residential complexes and neighborhoods dedicated to young people and specialists, ANL has contributed to the creation of strong and sustainable communities and played an essential role in promoting access to decent and affordable housing.

I appreciate the support of local and central authorities who have understood throughout our activity that generating housing in a commune or a city stimulates the economic development of the beneficiary community.

I would also like to mention the contribution of all colleagues over these 25 years in implementing the agency's projects, as well as the good collaboration with construction companies, financial institutions, design firms, and utility providers. I extend my sincere thanks to all of them.

Without their dedication and ongoing support, ANL's achievements would not have been possible," said Gabriel Stanciu, the General Director of ANL.

The campaign "ANL - Building Homes, Supporting Communities. For 25 years!" will run on ANL's social media accounts and will present photographs of significant moments from ANL's history, accompanied by explanatory information, assessments, or even unique insights into the institution's activities.

The photos come from the agency's own archive as well as from the archive of the National News Agency AGERPRES, whose photojournalists have captured many important moments from ANL's 25-year existence.

Under the coordination of the Ministry of Development, Public Works, and Administration, ANL's main objectives are the promotion and development of housing construction programs at the sectorial and national levels.

The main ongoing programs include the Youth Housing Construction Program for rental purposes (including housing for healthcare and education specialists), the Civil Service Housing Construction Program, the pilot program "Social Housing for Roma Communities," and ANL's own program for private property housing construction through mortgage credit.
