The NATIONAL COMPANY FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE S.A., as the Applicant, has developed and submitted the Financing Application for the project "Design and Execution of the Suceava – Siret Highway (Lot 3)" in order to obtain a grant allocated through CEF-T-202-MILMOB —WORKS (CEF 2 Transport – Adaptation of the TEN-T Road Network to Dual Civil-Defense Use; Military Mobility Package). CEF 2 - Military Mobility Package promotes actions that contribute to adapting transport infrastructure to enable the movement of troops and military equipment.
The overall objective of the project is to improve road transport infrastructure by constructing the A7 Highway, Suceava-Siret section, Lot 3, which is functionally independent.
The Suceava – Siret Highway - Lot 3 aims to provide high-quality road infrastructure as part of the national infrastructure network, accommodating long-distance freight and passenger traffic as well as local traffic while ensuring an appropriate level of safety and security for traffic with Ukraine.
The specific objective of the project is to adapt the project, part of the TEN-T network, for dual-use transport infrastructure, with the aim of improving mobility for both civilian and military purposes by 2027.
The project contributes to the implementation of the call: CEF 2 Transport - Adaptation of TEN-T to dual civil-defense use - Military Mobility Envelope, by constructing a highway section called Lot 3, part of the Suceava – Siret Highway, a section of the TEN-T Network, by creating modern road infrastructure for dual-use transport, aimed at improving both civilian and military mobility.
The total value of the project is 218,768,273.00 lei, of which the European Union's contribution is 109,384,136 Euros, and the project's duration is 46 months.
