Adrian-Ioan Veștea, the Minister of Development, Public Works, and Administration, inspected the progress of projects funded by the ministry through the National Investment Company in Brașov.
The first visited objective was the Multi-Purpose Hall in the city, with a value of 356,735,894.75 lei. The construction started in September 2022, and the estimated completion date is October 2025.
The multifunctional complex will have a total capacity of 11,233 seats and will include a sports hall, a training hall, sports and social facilities (changing rooms, recovery rooms, sanitary facilities, fitness room, medical offices), administrative and technical spaces, an underground parking lot with a capacity of 74 parking spaces, and an above-ground parking lot with 10 spaces for cars, 2 for buses, 3 for trucks, and 2 spaces for the Car TV Platform.
The objective will also have conference spaces, public areas, a promenade area (with an outdoor stage and terraced seating), two ticket houses, shading structures, terraced seating, as well as pedestrian walkways and promenade spaces.
The Minister of Development also inspected the progress of the construction works for the student dormitory of "Transilvania" University in Brașov, with a value of 34,238,147.77 lei. The dormitory will have a capacity of 206 places distributed in 103 rooms.
Each room will be equipped with its own sanitary facilities, furniture (beds, desks, wardrobe, refrigerator, and shelves), and a balcony spanning the entire width of the accommodation room. The building, with a height regime of 2S+P+4E+5Eretras+6Eretras, will have a total floor area of 5,598 square meters and will also be equipped with common areas (reading rooms, laundry/drying room, dining hall or kitchenette), and an underground parking lot with a capacity of 34 parking spaces.
During the site visit, Minister Veștea also met with the designers and contractors involved in the rehabilitation and modernization of DJ102I Valea Doftanei (Prahova County) - Brădet (Brașov County). The investment, worth 405,405,438 lei, aims to rehabilitate and modernize the road over a total length of 25.63 km and represents a strategic route that connects the south and center of the country.
The improvement of this county road also aims to decongest traffic and improve circulation on DN1 (Valea Prahovei) and DN1A by diverting light and medium traffic from DN1.
"These three projects are of major importance for the Brașov community, which I am familiar with and have been involved in since my time as President of the Brașov County Council. I have requested both the beneficiaries and the contractors to closely monitor the progress of the works and adhere to the deadlines of each stage of execution, in order to have high-quality, modern, and durable infrastructure.
I assured everyone once again that I will closely supervise the implementation of these objectives and will be involved whenever necessary," stated Minister Adrian-Ioan Veștea.
