Minister Adrian-Ioan Veștea was on a working visit to Mehedinți today, where he met with local public authorities in the county to discuss the projects implemented through programs coordinated by the Ministry of Development, Public Works, and Administration.

The Minister of Development also checked the progress of projects funded by the Ministry of Development in the city of Drobeta-Turnu Severin and the Șimian commune.

The National Investment Company provides over 56 million lei for the rehabilitation, modernization, equipping, and expansion of the swimming pool in Drobeta-Turnu Severin. The objective, which will have a total area of 8,370 square meters and 357 seats in the stands, will allow the organization of national and international sports competitions.

In the Șimian commune, through Component 5 - the Renovation Wave from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the Ministry of Development is investing 36,136,556.16 lei in the energy renovation of multifamily residential buildings with a total area of 37,496 square meters.

"We continue to support local authorities in implementing investments in areas of interest to citizens, and I am pleased to see that the projects funded by the Ministry of Development are taking shape throughout the country," emphasized Adrian-Ioan Veștea.

The Șimian locality is also implementing a project to establish an intelligent natural gas distribution system in the villages of Șimian, Cerneți, and Dedovița Nouă, with a total value of 55,343,489.52 lei, connecting 3,100 households to the natural gas supply network.

In Șimian, local authorities also plan to restore two historical monuments - Cula Nistor, built around 1812, and Cula lui Tudor Vladimirescu, also built in the 1800s.
