Adrian-Ioan Veștea, the Minister of Development, Public Works, and Administration, has inspected the progress of projects funded by the ministry in Călărași County.
The first objective visited was the Călărași Socio-Cultural Center (formerly the Administrative Palace), funded with 48,276,959.61 lei through the National Investment Company. The center will have a built area of 2,237 square meters, with a ground floor, one upper floor, and a second upper floor.
"At present, the structural, architectural, and installation works are 25% complete, and the contractor assured me that the completion deadline will be met so that next year, starting in July, this objective will become operational," the minister stated.
Another project visited was the "Dr. Pompei Samarian" County Emergency Hospital in Călărași, where a new building is being constructed with a capacity of 305 beds distributed across 10 medical departments (psychiatry, neurology, geriatrics, oncology, pediatrics, maternity, plastic surgery, obstetrics-gynecology, neonatology, and a birthing center).
"To have a healthy population, we need to contribute to both improving the quality of specialized medical services and modernizing medical facilities. The Ministry of Development is funding projects aimed at the rehabilitation and adaptation of spaces for optimal medical activities, energy efficiency, and the seismic reinforcement of buildings in the public healthcare system," Minister Veștea affirmed.
The minister also visited the sites in Călărași and Oltenița, where two nurseries will be built, financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, with a total value of nearly 33 million lei. These nurseries will provide 180 new places for preschool children in the county.
"The new nurseries will contribute to the harmonious development of children and provide them with a modern and safe environment for learning and socializing," said Adrian-Ioan Veștea.
The working visit also took place in the village of Dragalina, where the Ministry of Development, Public Works, and Administration is funding the construction of a type 1 sports facility (including a football field and a multi-functional field for sports such as handball, basketball, volleyball, and tennis), which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
