MDLPA: New investments in medical, cultural, legal and sports infrastructure

The government has approved an emergency ordinance through which the National Investment Company becomes the implementing structure for new projects financed under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, in the fields of health, tourism, culture, and good governance.

According to the normative act, the Regional Institute of Oncology will be built in Timișoara (worth 1.15 billion lei), while in Bucharest, the Emergency Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases "Prof. Dr. C.C. Iliescu" will be expanded (with a value of 1.40 billion lei) along with an outpatient clinic for magnetic resonance imaging, post-anesthesia surveillance, and intermediate post-operative intensive care at the Medical Center for Diagnosis, Treatment, and Recovery (15 million lei).

The ordinance also provides for the establishment of the National Museum of Jewish History and the Holocaust in Romania (268.2 million lei), the Memorial "Prison of Silence" in Râmnicu Sărat, and the Educational Center on Communism in Romania (77.2 million lei), as well as the modernization of the courthouses in Buzău and Galați, as well as the Alba Tribunal (with a total value of over 276 million lei).

The government also approved the technical and economic indicators for the construction of a new football stadium (UEFA category 4) in Timișoara. The objective will have a capacity of 30,000 seats, the total investment value is 836,949,000 lei, and the estimated duration for the execution of the works is 26 months.

"The objectives approved today are projects of major importance, awaited by the residents of these communities, which will contribute to the development of medical, cultural, legal, and sports infrastructure," stated Minister Adrian-Ioan Veștea.
