Minister Adrian-Ioan Veștea paid a working visit to Teleorman, where he met with local public authorities to discuss the progress of projects funded through programs coordinated by the Ministry of Development, Public Works, and Administration (MDLPA).
"I gladly accepted the invitation to meet with representatives of the authorities in Teleorman because only through consistent and ongoing dialogue between central and local public administration can we accomplish the projects and objectives for the benefit of the citizens. In this regard, I am fully available for constructive discussions with decision-makers and for a serious, relevant, and periodic analysis of the situation at the local public administration level to achieve this common goal," said the Minister of Development.
Through the National Local Development Program, MDLPA is providing over 1.25 million lei for the implementation of 254 infrastructure projects in this county. Through the National Investment Program "Anghel Saligny," 1.82 million lei has been allocated for 131 objectives aimed at modernizing roads and bridges, expanding or establishing water supply and sewage networks, and establishing natural gas distribution systems.
The National Recovery and Resilience Plan is financing approximately 330 million lei for 161 projects, including thermal rehabilitation and energy efficiency of public institutions and residential multifamily buildings, green transport infrastructure, and urban planning and land use documentation.
The construction of rental housing units for young people is also a focus of local authorities in Teleorman. Currently, 110 housing units are under construction with a total value of 33.5 million lei in the municipalities of Alexandria, Roșiori de Vede, and Turnu Măgurele.
The National Investment Company is providing over 753 million lei for 72 contracted objectives in various stages of implementation. This includes the construction of a sports complex with a seating capacity of 5,496 spectators and the headquarters of the Teleorman Tribunal and the Alexandria Court, with a total value of around 145 million lei, in the city of Alexandria.
"We need things to move with maximum efficiency, and local projects need to materialize as quickly as possible. People need better and extended infrastructure that connects communities, safer roads, access to utilities, all of which result in an improved standard of living for all residents. We aim to do this at the national level to reduce local and regional disparities as much as possible," concluded Minister Adrian-Ioan Veștea.
