Isopan Est, a manufacturer of thermal insulation panels, is the absolute leader of the Romanian market, both in terms of the quantity produced and the turnover achieved at the end of a record-breaking 2023.
Isopan reported a turnover of 94.5 million euros and a production of 3.91 million square meters of thermal insulation panels, an increase of 12% compared to the previous year.
According to an analysis conducted by the Neomar agency, in 2023 the Romanian market had a total value of 246.18 million euros, with a total production of 11.09 million square meters of panels. According to this report, Isopan Est holds a market share of 23.6% in the production segment, being the absolute market leader.
In the production segment, Isopan Est announced that it produced 3.91 million square meters of sandwich panels in 2023, an increase of almost 12% compared to the previous year. Of this quantity, over 2.6 million square meters of panels were sold on the domestic market, representing a 23.8% increase over 2022. Additionally, nearly 1.3 million square meters were exported, making Isopan one of the main contributors to this important segment of Romania's economy.
"In 2023, Isopan had a very good year, one in which we entered a new phase of consolidating our business and market position in Romania. As the economy began to recover, important projects were either unblocked or initiated. In the first part of the year, the instability caused by rampant inflation was strongly felt, but then the situation stabilized, and we managed to overcome that moment.
We faced significant challenges related to logistics chains, but as in every crisis, there is an opportunity, and these difficulties prompted us to make a substantial investment in expanding the storage capacity of raw materials.
Traditional partners, as well as new ones, turned to Isopan, and I am glad that the team rose to the occasion every time. In such a competitive market, both locally and especially internationally, it is evident to anyone that only through partnerships can businesses consolidate and develop, and collaboration at the industry level is almost mandatory.
Before being competitors, we are elements of innovation, and our common goal is to offer the best products for our clients' projects. We demonstrated throughout last year that Isopan deserves its market-leading position in Romania, and it is an honor for us that major project developers want us as partners, trusting in the quality of the panels and the expertise of the Isopan team.
Expectations for 2024 are for consolidation; we aim to remain at the level of 2023, considering it was a record year for us, but also in the context of the challenges that each electoral year brings, with projects put on hold," said Toni Pera, General Manager of Isopan Est.
The company's investment plan allocates 5 million euros for 2023 and 2024, as well as the launch of new products for the Romanian market. Last year saw the completion of a 1 million euro investment in Isopan's new product, FORTELIA, and the start of an investment in expanding the storage capacities of raw materials, a new chemical product warehouse with a special mixing room for developing new solutions or types of foam, concurrently with the implementation of SAP.
Among the significant projects that Isopan contributed to in 2023 is a special project that involved the entire company and entailed the delivery of 187 thousand square meters of panels to Turkey, with the materials being used for the construction of temporary housing for disaster victims.
Additionally, the company supplied panels for VGP logistics parks in Timisoara and Brasov, the Fan Courier warehouse in Stefanesti, Jumbo stores in Sibiu and Iasi, the Carrefour hypermarket in Bacau, the Lidas Tulcea factory, the Hornbach store in Constanta, the extension of the Pirelli factory, Carmistin farms, Penny and Kaufland stores, the Arges Mall shopping center in Pitesti, Eli Parks logistics parks, and CTP Serbia.
