The Ministry of Development, Public Works, and Administration has proposed, and the Government has reapproved today, the technical and economic indicators for the modernization and equipping of the municipal hospital in Rupea (Brașov County).
The regulatory act was necessary because the hospital, built approximately 50 years ago, serves about 35,000 inhabitants from the town of Rupea and the neighboring rural localities, with most patients being retirees and social assistance beneficiaries.
Additionally, the outpatient department does not have all the necessary specialties; currently, it only offers 4 specialties (surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, and internal medicine), and there is a need for departments in cardiology, ENT, ophthalmology, neurology, diabetology, and occupational medicine.
Through the implementation of the project, which targets the main building of the hospital and the building for infectious diseases and laundry, the objectives are to improve the seismic risk class from Rs I to Rs IV and to develop the medical infrastructure by providing medical equipment and furniture, as well as improving accessibility and functional flows by expanding the hospital building, installing an external staircase, and a 16-person elevator.
The objective will have a capacity of 80 beds for continuous hospitalization and 5 beds for day hospitalization, on a built area of 1,466.63 square meters and a height regime of G+F+2F (for the main hospital building), and G+1F (for the infectious diseases and laundry building).
The investment value is 101,872,000 lei, and the estimated duration for completing the objective is 28 months (4 months for design and 24 months for execution). (Photo: Dreamstime)
