The signing of the funding contract for the DISMAR project within the Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Program marks an important moment for collaboration and cross-border development between the two countries. Through this project, an innovative and integrated marking system will be developed on the common Romanian-Bulgarian sector of the Danube River, thus contributing to increasing the safety and efficiency of navigation on this vital route.

Within the project, which has a total budget of nearly 10 million euros (of which European co-financing is approximately 8 million euros) and a duration of 36 months,
The Lower Danube River Administration (Galati) is the lead, with the Executive Agency for the Exploitation and Maintenance of the Danube River (Ruse) as a partner.
This is the first project of strategic importance selected by the Monitoring Committee of the Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Program, which will directly contribute to improving mobility at national, regional, and local levels, as well as at the European Union level, along the TEN-T Rhine-Danube Corridor.
