ANL Delivers 16 New Rental Housing Units for Young People in Gătaia, Timiș County

The National Housing Agency (ANL), operating under the authority of the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration (MDLPA), has completed and handed over 16 new rental housing units for young people in the town of Gătaia, Timiș County.

The units—1 studio and 15 two-room apartments—were built at 7 Tineretului Street, in a P+3E building (ground floor plus three stories). The total investment amounted to 4,936,834.39 lei (VAT included).

To date, ANL has completed 983 housing units in Timiș County under the same program, in the following locations:

• Timișoara (378 units)
• Jimbolia (130 units)
• Lugoj (187 units)
• Făget (56 units)
• Sânnicolau Mare (30 units)
• Recaș (30 units)
• Giroc (22 units)
• Deta (150 units)

About the Program

The rental housing construction program for young people was launched by ANL in 2001. Housing units are built on land provided by local public authorities, and are intended for young people aged 18 to 35 who meet the eligibility conditions set by law.

Applicants must submit requests to their local municipalities, which are responsible for creating the allocation lists.

Currently, tenants can purchase the rental units after a minimum of one year, by:

• Making equal monthly payments to the local authorities,
• Contracting mortgage loans from authorized financial institutions (with the possibility of state guarantees), or
• Paying the full final price from their own funds.

The program is financed through:

• The state budget, via the MDLPA,
• Local budgets, and
• Other legally established sources.
