The National Housing Agency (ANL), an institution under the authority of the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration (MDLPA), has received 52 rental housing units for young people in Baia Mare city, Maramureș county.

The housing units (24 studios and 28 two-bedroom apartments) were built at the location on Grănicerilor Street, no. 120 A, with a P+6F (ground floor + 6 floors) configuration. The total investment value for the project amounts to 15,282,310.33 lei (including VAT).

To date, in Maramureș county, within the program for the construction of rental housing units for young people, ANL has completed 661 housing units in the following localities: Târgu Lăpuș (92), Sighetu Marmației (242), Baia Mare (117), Cavnic (10), Fărcașa (72), Seini (71), Dragomirești (9), Baia Sprie (20), Ariniș (12), and Șomcuta Mare (16).

The program for the construction of rental housing units for young people was launched by ANL in 2001. The housing units are built on land provided to the Agency by local public authorities, and the beneficiaries are young people between 18 and 35 years old who meet the conditions required by law to access such housing. The allocation process involves submitting applications to the municipalities, which then compile distribution lists.

Currently, the rental housing units for young people can be purchased by tenants after a minimum one-year rental period. This can be done by making equal monthly payments to local public authorities, by contracting mortgage loans from authorized financial institutions (including with state guarantee), or by making full payment of the final price from personal sources.

The funds required for the program's financing are provided from the state budget through the budget of the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration (MDLPA), local budgets, and other legally established sources.
