The Competition Council is reviewing the transaction in which VilboCeram GmbH intends to acquire Ideal Standard MENA Midco Limited, Ideal Standard International N.V., Ideal Standard Holdings (BC) Italy S.r.l., and Ideal Standard Holdings (BC) Germany GmbH.

VilboCeram GmbH, based in Germany, is a ceramics manufacturer that designs, produces, and distributes primarily sanitary ceramics, tableware, and home accessories in numerous countries.

In Romania, the group operates through Mondial S.A., which runs a ceramic sanitary ware production facility and also sells ceramic sanitary products under the Villeroy & Boch and Mondial brands in the Romanian market.

The acquired companies (Ideal Standard MENA Midco Limited, Ideal Standard International N.V., Ideal Standard Holdings (BC) Italy S.r.l., and Ideal Standard Holdings (BC) Germany GmbH) are part of the Ideal Standard group, which produces and markets bathroom products in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

In Romania, the Ideal Standard group generates revenue through its local representation, Ideal Standard Vidima AD.

According to the provisions of the Competition Law (Law no. 21/1996), this transaction must be authorized by the Competition Council, which will assess it to determine its compatibility with a normal competitive environment and will issue a decision within the deadlines set by law.
