Real Estate Transactions in May 2025: Over 50,000 Properties Sold Nationwide

In May 2025, a total of 50,734 properties were sold across Romania, marking an increase of 823 transactions compared to April 2025.

Compared to May 2024, the number of houses, land plots, and apartments sold increased by 7,133.

The highest number of real estate transactions were recorded in:

• Bucharest – 7,922
• Ilfov County – 4,220
• Timiș County – 2,440

At the opposite end, the counties with the fewest property sales were:

• Teleorman – 141
• Ialomița – 263
• Călărași – 292

County Capitals with the Most Real Estate Transactions:

• Brașov – 1,064
• Cluj-Napoca – 895
• Iași – 815

County Capitals with the Fewest Transactions:

• Alexandria – 15
• Slobozia – 40
• Slatina – 58

Mortgages

In May 2025, a total of 29,065 mortgages were registered nationwide, up by 5,171 compared to May 2024. Counties with the highest number of mortgage operations:

• Bucharest – 4,636
• Dolj – 3,499
• Ilfov – 2,816

Counties with the fewest registered mortgages:

• Teleorman – 74
• Sălaj – 97
• Gorj – 103

Agricultural Land Sales

The counties with the most agricultural land sold in May 2025 were:

• Mehedinți – 886
• Buzău – 531
• Dolj – 512
