Over 200 School Infrastructure Projects Planned in Romania for 2024–2026
The Ministry of Development and local authorities continue to invest in educational infrastructure, supported by funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and local budgets. Between 2024 and 2026, more than 200 projects are being prepared for the construction and rehabilitation of educational institutions, with a focus on nurseries, kindergartens, and technical high schools.
According to a summary published by the Ministry, priority is given to buildings at seismic risk, facilities lacking access to modern utilities, and schools located in disadvantaged rural areas. Ongoing tenders include structural consolidation, energy efficiency upgrades, and equipping schools with digital tools.
A key component of the initiative involves building integrated campuses—including accommodation, workshops, and laboratories—for technical education, developed in partnership with private-sector employers. These are designed to support local workforce development and reduce school dropout rates.
Developers and construction firms interested in participating can consult the SEAP and MDLPA platforms for tender submission deadlines. Funding will be allocated in phases, and local authorities have received methodological support to prepare the necessary technical and economic documentation.
The implementation of these projects will not only modernize educational infrastructure but also help strengthen the construction market in economically less attractive regions.
