The construction industry is beginning to adopt materials capable of reacting to the external environment.

Adaptive façades, smart glass, and materials that modify their structure depending on temperature, light, or humidity are transforming the way buildings function.

These materials reduce energy consumption by naturally regulating light and temperature.

Some systems use shape-memory alloys. Others rely on reactive composite materials.

The goal is simple: buildings that adapt without requiring major additional energy consumption.

Pressure for greater energy efficiency is accelerating interest in these solutions.

Costs remain high, and their use is still limited to premium or experimental projects.

However, the technology is advancing rapidly.

In the future, buildings will no longer be completely passive structures.

They will react.

And materials will no longer be evaluated only by their strength, but also by the intelligence of their behavior.
