Prefabricated materials are gaining ground in urban construction due to their efficiency and predictability. According to INS data (2024), the use of prefabricated components has increased by 18% over the past three years in Romania’s metropolitan areas.

Prefabricated elements can reduce construction time by up to 30% and enable more rigorous site management. Companies in the sector are increasingly using prestressed concrete structures, insulated façade panels and modular components that can be assembled quickly without extensive additional work on site.

These solutions are also compatible with energy efficiency standards promoted through the NRRP and European regulations under the “Fit for 55” package. In Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Iași, more than 40% of new residential developments built in 2024 incorporate prefabricated components.

This trend is further supported by a shortage of qualified labour, encouraging developers to adopt industrialised solutions that require less onsite manpower.
