Minister Adrian-Ioan Veștea paid a working visit to Suceava, where he met with local authorities in the county and checked the status of three investment projects funded by the Ministry of Development, Public Works, and Administration through the National Investment Company (CNI).

The Administrative Palace building is undergoing consolidation, restoration, rehabilitation, and equipping following the fire in March 2021, which nearly destroyed it, affecting the structural integrity of the building's wings, primarily on the upper floors and the roof. The building is located in the historic area of the city and housed the Prefecture and the Suceava County Council.

The rehabilitation project aims to maintain the current structural elements' strength and improve seismic protection while preserving the architectural characteristics of the construction, which is listed as a historical monument. The total approved investment value is 96,013,002.54 lei, with a contractual implementation period of 22 months, including 4 months dedicated to the design phase.

The complex of buildings at the "St. John the New Monastery of Suceava" is also undergoing consolidation and rehabilitation to optimize functional facilities. The interventions target St. George's Church, the archbishop's residence, the cells, the chapel, and the old church.

The monastery's precinct is a UNESCO monument and is also listed as a historical monument in Suceava County. The estimated value of the works is over 100 million lei, with an estimated completion period of 42 months, including 6 months for the design phase.

"Through such investments, we support the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, both for us and for future generations. We have asked the builders to ensure that all works respect the characteristics of the heritage and adhere to the contractual deadlines," said the Minister of Development.

In the city of Suceava, the Ministry of Development, through CNI, is also financing the construction of a multi-purpose hall with 5,000 seats, on a height regime of D+GF+2F (basement+ground floor+2 floors) and a total built area of 28,053 square meters, which will incorporate spaces required for the specific activities of the multi-purpose hall and related functions. The investment amounts to 185,262,660.23 lei, with an estimated completion date in July of next year.

"By completing this objective, we contribute to the development of cultural and sports infrastructure in Suceava County and provide all citizens with access to quality events," emphasized Minister Adrian-Ioan Veștea.
