According to a press release, Genesis Property, one of the most important office building owners in Romania, and HP Inc. Romania have signed a 5-year lease extension contract for the 7,000 square meters of office space in YUNITY Park, the most innovative office campus locally. HP Inc. Romania will thus reach 24 years of presence in YUNITY Park, providing employees with unique working spaces and facilities for office life and leisure time, aligned with today's and future trends.
In addition to the ultra-modern office spaces with high sustainability standards, the YUNITY Park campus stands out for its specially built public space, featuring fluid architecture and biophilic design, offering an urban forest of 1,000 square meters that contributes to absorbing over 5 tons of CO₂ annually, an outdoor amphitheater with a capacity of 1,500 people, 2,000 meters of pedestrian walkways and tiered promenade, water mirrors in steps, and creative spaces for relaxation, meetings, and events.
In 2024, YUNITY Park is preparing to enter its final development stage. This progress follows the announcement at the end of last year by Genesis Property of completing the second phase of the project, marking a significant investment of 20 million euros in exceptional spaces and facilities, as well as in campus sustainability.
Among the company's implemented innovations are a basin for retaining rainwater, used for irrigating the entire green space of the park, smart and energy-efficient nighttime lighting systems based on LED technology, and an impressive network of over 1,000 photovoltaic panels installed on the roofs of campus buildings.
The transaction is part of a series of office space lease agreements within the YUNITY Park and West Gate Business District business campuses, which are part of Genesis Property's portfolio. In the last 12 months, renowned companies such as Garanti BBVA, Siemens, and Ericsson have renewed their commitments, bringing Genesis Property's total leased area to over 25,000 square meters.
In 2023, Genesis Property received approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its short-term CO₂ emissions reduction target by 2030. The company aims to reduce emissions from Scopes 1 and 2 by at least 46% compared to 2019 levels, as part of efforts to meet the objectives set in the Paris Agreement.
These measures are intended to contribute to limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels by 2050. Additionally, Genesis Property is committed to measuring and reducing emissions from Scope 3, considering obtaining validation for the long-term Net Zero emissions reduction target.
