Bypass Project for Sfântu Gheorghe Municipality – Funded by the EU Through the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, acting as Intermediate Body for Transport, and the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (CNAIR S.A.), as Beneficiary, have implemented the project entitled: “Bypass Route for Sfântu Gheorghe Municipality.”
The project is co-financed by the European Union (EU) through the European Regional Development Fund, under the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme 2014–2020, within Priority Axis: Development of a quality, sustainable and efficient multimodal transport system, Specific Objective 2.1 – Call for projects for road infrastructure development – support for investment project preparation.
General Objective
The general objective of the project is to enhance Romania’s economic competitiveness by developing transport infrastructure that facilitates economic integration into the European Union, thus contributing to the growth of the internal market and creating the conditions necessary to increase investment volume, promote sustainable transport, and ensure cohesion within the European road network.
Project Purpose
The project aims to prepare an updated feasibility study that will support the future construction of a bypass road outside the municipality of Sfântu Gheorghe, to provide the basic infrastructure needed to meet increasing transport demand.
