The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration S.A. Announce the Implementation of the Project: “Bypass of Sfântu Gheorghe Municipality”

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, as Intermediate Body for Transport, and the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration S.A., as Beneficiary, have implemented the project titled “Bypass of Sfântu Gheorghe Municipality.”

This project is co-financed by the European Union (EU) through the European Regional Development Fund, under the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme 2014–2020, within Priority Axis 2: Development of a quality, sustainable, and efficient multimodal transport system, Specific Objective 2.1 – Call for projects for the development of road infrastructure – support for investment project preparation.

General Objective

The main objective of the project is to enhance Romania’s economic competitiveness by developing transport infrastructure that facilitates economic integration within the EU. This contributes to the development of the internal market by creating conditions for increased investment, promoting sustainable transport, and fostering cohesion within the European road network.

Project Purpose

The project aims to prepare an updated feasibility study for the construction of a bypass road outside the municipality of Sfântu Gheorghe, thereby ensuring the necessary basic infrastructure to meet growing transport demand.

Project Value and Financing

The total value of the project is 1,329,004.94 lei, financed as follows:

• 85% from the European Union, via the European Regional Development Fund: 953,934.96 lei
• 15% national co-financing: 168,341.47 lei
