The reuse of abandoned industrial buildings is becoming a strategic direction in modern urban development. Instead of demolition, an increasing number of projects focus on converting these spaces into new functions: offices, residential units, or commercial centers.

The main advantage is economic. In many cases, conversion costs are lower than those of new construction, and execution time is shorter. Additionally, existing infrastructure provides a valuable starting point.

There are also urban benefits: revitalization of degraded areas, reduced resource consumption, and preservation of industrial heritage. Such projects contribute to urban regeneration without excessive expansion.

However, the challenges are significant. Adapting to current standards of safety, energy efficiency, and comfort requires substantial investment. Existing structures may also limit design flexibility.

In the medium term, the conversion of industrial buildings will become an essential component of sustainable urban development. It is a solution that combines economic efficiency with responsibility toward the built environment.
