According to Construction Technologies, the Danish-based company Trackunit has launched its new emissions reporting software for fleet owners operating on construction sites and beyond.
The company stated that the software enables fleet owners to accurately track CO2 emissions, monitor and take near real-time actions on emissions, and provides them with a powerful tool to meet CO2 goals and ensure contracts with strict sustainability criteria.
The software operates by using synthesized machine metadata and individual equipment profiles to allow reporting of the total fleet emissions for off-highway machinery and equipment.
It can be used on any type of off-road machine and offers users a display of emissions from all connected equipment, enabling easy tracking and, where necessary, near-instant actions to reduce emissions throughout the value chain.
Lærke Ullerup, Trackunit's Director of Marketing and Product, said, "Construction is complex, and this has made it difficult for the industry to get truly accurate emission figures.
"The solution and data model are uniquely capable of including all equipment, both connected and unconnected, using machine learning and big data to provide high-precision emission reporting. Effectively, it means no machine will be left behind.
Ullerup added that the software "puts users ahead of the game in a regulatory environment that only moves in one direction, in line with global net-zero goals," and is "an essential addition to any construction company's toolkit to grow their business, build profitability, and contribute to a more eco-friendly industry."
