Student Housing Demand Surges Ahead of 2025–2026 Academic Year: West Gate Studios Opens Applications

As the 2025–2026 academic year approaches, most students are already securing accommodation for the next 12 months—opting for modern, safe living spaces equipped with attractive amenities, according to Genesis Property statistics.

At West Gate Studios, Romania’s first and largest private residential campus for students, 60% of the 1,700 available spots across 850 rooms have already been reserved by returning residents—months ahead of the university year—demonstrating high demand and strong community loyalty.

Starting July 1, West Gate Studios opened applications for new residents to occupy the remaining 40% of rooms.

In recent years, the company has made significant investments in upgrading facilities and introducing two new room types to better meet students' evolving needs:

• Junior Suite Premium (37 sqm), a premium room with enhanced space and features
• Studio Plus, a studio room equipped with its own washing machine—a category already fully booked for the upcoming academic year.

These developments are part of West Gate Studios’ commitment to the Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) model—a concept that involves designing residences specifically tailored to student lifestyles. West Gate Studios remains unique in Romania in this regard.

Each room is fully furnished and includes a private balcony, bathroom, and kitchenette (with fridge, electric stove, and microwave), as well as air conditioning, internet, and TV. The campus also offers easy metro access and a wide array of on-site amenities.

One standout feature is the outdoor swimming pool, open free of charge to residents from Monday to Thursday, with the option to invite friends or family at special rates.

The Students Cafe—featuring a gaming area, party room, and lounge—hosts a variety of student life events, including themed parties, workshops, and personal development sessions.

Another hallmark of the campus is the active involvement of students in campus life, including the organization of events and initiatives that strengthen the student community.

24/7 security and permanent maintenance services ensure a safe and functional environment. Residents also have free access to medical services at the on-site Medicover clinic.

The West Gate Studios campus, developed by Genesis Property, consists of three buildings—A1, B1, and B2—offering four room types: Studio, Studio Plus, Junior Suite, and Junior Suite Premium.

Utility bills (water, electricity, heating, internet, and cable TV) are included in the rental price, and all residents benefit from round-the-clock security and technical support. Moreover, applications submitted between July 1–31 are eligible for a 50% discount on the maintenance fee.
