The use of drones in construction has become a common practice on large sites in Romania, thanks to the advantages they offer in monitoring progress and ensuring safety. Drones equipped with high-resolution cameras and LiDAR sensors can provide precise images and measurements, reducing inspection time by up to 70%.

According to a study conducted by PwC, integrating drones into construction activities can generate cost savings of 5–10% per project, by quickly identifying discrepancies and potential risks. In Romania, more and more construction companies are adopting this technology for road, railway, and industrial infrastructure projects.

Another advantage is increased worker safety, as drones can be used in hard-to-reach or dangerous areas, reducing the risk of accidents. In addition, the data collected is integrated with BIM platforms, providing a complete and updated view of the project.

In the long term, the use of drones is expected to become a standard in the construction market, complemented by artificial intelligence for the automated analysis of collected data.
