Romania’s Thermal Insulation Window Market Driven by nZEB Standards and Energy Efficiency Demand

Romania’s market for thermal insulation windows is heavily influenced by nZEB (nearly Zero Energy Building) regulations and the growing demand for energy-efficient solutions. Data from the Association of Hardware and Insulated Glass Producers shows that sales in 2024 increased by 12% compared to 2023.

The most in-demand products are triple-glazed windows with Low-E coatings and inert gas-filled cavities, which can reduce heat loss by up to 50% compared to conventional models. Prices for thermal insulation windows range between 500 and 900 RON/m², depending on the profile type and integrated accessories.

Current trends include the integration of smart sensors for ventilation control, automated shading systems, and profiles made from recycled materials. In the medium term, experts forecast continued growth in the premium segment, driven by energy renovation projects.
