The use of ready-mixed concrete is becoming increasingly common in urban infrastructure projects and residential construction due to its logistical and quality advantages. According to Eurostat, the consumption of ready-mixed concrete in the European Union increased by 12% between 2020 and 2023, reflecting a trend toward industrializing execution processes. In Romania, producers report rising demand in major cities, where execution time and quality control are essential.

Ready-mixed concrete allows for optimization of on-site workflows, reducing waste and improving recipe accuracy. In addition, it is compatible with modern assisted-pouring technologies and modular structures. In Bucharest, Cluj, and Timișoara, major real estate developers frequently adopt this type of material in office and multi-unit residential projects. According to INS, the domestic market for ready-mixed concrete exceeded 8 million m³ in 2023.

It is important for designers and contractors to incorporate these solutions from the planning stage, taking into account logistical infrastructure and delivery conditions. The development of concrete plants adapted to the urban context can become a significant competitive advantage in major construction hubs.
