The Competition Council has authorized the transaction through which VilboCeram GmbH acquires Ideal Standard MENA Midco Limited, Ideal Standard International N.V., Ideal Standard Holdings (BC) Italy S.r.l., and Ideal Standard Holdings (BC) Germany GmbH.

VilboCeram GmbH is a ceramic manufacturer based in Germany, primarily designing, producing, and distributing sanitary ceramics, tableware, and home accessories in numerous countries.

In Romania, the Ideal Standard group operates through Mondial S.A., which runs a ceramic sanitary ware production unit and also sells ceramic sanitary products under the Villeroy & Boch and Mondial brands in the Romanian market.

The acquired companies are part of the Ideal Standard group, which manufactures and markets bathroom products in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

In Romania, the Ideal Standard group generates revenue through its local representation, Ideal Standard Vidima AD.

Following the analysis, the Competition Council found that this operation does not pose significant barriers to effective competition in the Romanian market or in a substantial part thereof, and there are no serious doubts regarding its compatibility with a normal competitive environment.
