THE NATIONAL COMPANY FOR ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT S.A., as the Applicant and in partnership with the INTERCOMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION OF THE ZALAU METROPOLITAN AREA, has prepared and submitted the Financing Request for the project: "Zalau North Bypass - Alternative for decongesting road traffic on DN 1H in the localities of Zalau, Criseni, Hereclean".

The funding is provided through the Transport Program 2021-2027, under component RSO3.2_Development and increase of sustainable, climate-resilient, smart, and intermodal national, regional, and local mobility, including improving access to TEN-T and cross-border mobility - European Regional Development Fund;

Priority: P2. Improving secondary road connectivity; Specific objective: RSO3.2_Development and increase of sustainable, climate-resilient, smart, and intermodal national, regional, and local mobility, including improving access to TEN-T and cross-border mobility.

The general objective of the project is to take over the major flows transiting the area in order to streamline traffic by reducing transport time, reducing roadblocks, diverting heavy traffic, and crossing the Zalau Municipality, Criseni locality, and Hereclean locality, separating traffic flows that generate problems related to transit time, air pollution, housing vibration impacts in the Criseni locality, road accidents, and facilitating connections with localities in the area.

The specific objective of the project is to design at the SF phase, PAC+POE, PT+DDE, including analyzes, investigations, studies, documentation, etc., cadastral and expropriation documentation, PUZ, obtaining approvals, agreements, authorizations requested through the urbanism certificate, for the realization of the Zalau bypass, including connection to the existing road network.

The total value of the project is: 5,401,328.01 lei and will be financed through the Transport Program as follows:

  • European Union contribution from the European Regional Development Fund - 1,820,037.92 lei,
  • Own contribution - 2,730,056.88 lei, the difference up to the total value of the project representing ineligible expenses including VAT.

The duration of the project is 30 months. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund through the Transport Program 2021-2027.
