According to data published by Eurostat and analyses conducted by the Romanian Institute for Urban Development, Romania’s industrial construction sector recorded a 12.7% increase in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Demand is being driven by the rapid expansion of logistics hubs, particularly in the Bucharest-Ilfov, Cluj, and Timiș regions, where e-commerce and retail companies are seeking large spaces adapted to high-speed delivery flows.
The Colliers Romania report shows that over 400,000 square meters of industrial space were delivered by August 2025, with another 300,000 square meters currently under construction. The structures are mainly built using prefabricated concrete elements, large-span steel halls, and modern thermal and acoustic insulation solutions.
This upward trend is further supported by favorable fiscal policies and investment subsidies for logistics development under the PNRR and POIM programs. At the same time, the growing adoption of automation technologies and smart energy management systems is transforming industrial buildings into key drivers of Romania’s economic infrastructure modernization.
