In December 2023, a decrease in the number of building permits issued for residential buildings compared to the previous month was observed (-150 permits). This decrease is reflected in the following development regions: Southeast (-87 permits), South-Muntenia (-68), Center (-58), and Northwest (-52).
Increases were recorded in the following development regions: Southwest Oltenia (+54 permits), Northeast (+38), Bucharest-Ilfov (+14), and West (+9).
In December 2023, 465 building permits were issued for non-residential buildings (-11.6% compared to November 2023), with a total useful area of 413,657 square meters (-13.1%). Compared to the previous month, in December 2023, a decrease in the useful area of building permits issued for non-residential buildings was recorded (-62,435 square meters).

Compared to December 2022, in December 2023, there was a decrease in the number of building permits issued for non-residential buildings (-17.7%) and an increase in the total useful area (+11.6%). This increase in the useful area of building permits issued for non-residential buildings (+43,086 square meters) is reflected in the following development regions:
