Sandwich panels have become the standard solution for the rapid and efficient construction of industrial halls, warehouses, and logistics centers. They consist of two metal faces and an insulating core, most commonly made of polyurethane (PUR), polyisocyanurate (PIR), or mineral wool.
Data published by the European Panel Federation shows that PUR/PIR core panels have a thermal conductivity of λ = 0.022–0.026 W/mK, making them ideal for spaces with high thermal insulation requirements. Mineral wool core panels, with λ = 0.038–0.042 W/mK, offer superior fire protection (class A2-s1,d0) and are mandatory in certain types of constructions.
On the Romanian market, average costs range between €28 and €40 per m², depending on the type, thickness, and finish. In 2024–2025, prices increased by approximately 12% due to the rising cost of steel and higher transportation expenses.
Average installation time is reduced by 30–40% compared to traditional solutions, and material waste is minimal. In addition, the panels are reusable and easy to dismantle, making them attractive for temporary constructions as well.
The current trend on the Romanian market is a growing demand for panels with aesthetic finishes and improved sound insulation, especially for logistics projects near residential areas.
