In the third quarter of 2023, 17,916 dwellings were put into use, a decrease of 2,307 dwellings compared to the third quarter of 2022. In the period from January 1 to September 30, 2023, 49,993 dwellings were completed, a decrease of 2,801 dwellings compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

By residence areas, in the third quarter of 2023, the majority of dwellings were constructed in urban areas (59.8%).

The distribution of completed dwellings by funding sources reveals that in the third quarter of 2023, compared to the third quarter of 2022, the number of dwellings constructed from private funds decreased by 2,543 dwellings, while those from public funds increased by 236 dwellings.

The regional distribution in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the third quarter of 2022 highlights a decrease in the number of completed dwellings in the following development regions:

• North-East (-621 dwellings)
• South-East (-552 dwellings)
• South-Muntenia (-467 dwellings)
• Bucharest–Ilfov (-406 dwellings)
• West (-306 dwellings)
• South–West Oltenia (-2 dwellings).

Increases occurred in two development regions: Center (+30 dwellings) and North–West (+17 dwellings).

For the period from January 1 to September 30, 2023, compared to the same period in 2022:

• 49,993 dwellings were put into use, a decrease of 2,801 dwellings.
• In terms of residence areas, during the period from January 1 to September 30, 2023, the majority of dwellings were put into use in urban areas, representing 61.7% of the total.
• The distribution by funding sources for completed dwellings indicates that, during the period from January 1 to September 30, 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, the number of dwellings constructed from private funds decreased (-3,090 dwellings), while the number of dwellings constructed from public funds increased (+289).
• The regional distribution for the period from January 1 to September 30, 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, shows a decrease in the number of completed dwellings in the following development regions:North–West (-1,048 )Bucharest–Ilfov (-942 )West (-904)Center (-284 )South-Muntenia (-274).
